Summary of Pyramid
Eritrea is in Stage 2 of the demographic transition model, or in other words, a periphery country. Based on the pyramid, it is evident that a majority of the country's population is very young. From this, I can also infer that the total fertility rate and infant mortality rates are higher than those of a wealthier country. Compared to the United States' pyramid, the life expectancy is much lower. Furthermore, like most other countries in stage two, Eritrea most likely has an issue with diseases such as cholera and AIDS.

Unfortunately, Eritrea is a dictatorship that has been run by the exact same man for twenty five years. He requires that every child must enter the military after they finish school. As a result, besides Syria, Eritrea has produced the largest number of people desperately hoping to reach Europe for a better life. In fact, as stated in the article,"One in 10 of all prospective migrants to Europe are Eritrean, and the UN estimates around 4,000 people leave the country every month."

Sure enough, the Eritreans noted in the article were migrating from their native country to Europe. At the same time, they are emigrating, or moving out of a country, as well as immigrating, or moving into another country. Furthermore, there are several push and pull factors that have led the people of Eritrea to the decision to flee their country. For instance, the harsh rule of their leader is a major push factor. In addition, Europe, being a place for a better life and education, has many pull factors, or details that are attracting migrants from Eritrea.
